Services and Information

Once you have looked at the rest, bring your mares to the best - GOING TO THE DOC!

Breeding Information

The 2011 stud fee for Going To The Doc is $500, plus a $600 chute fee. The chute fee is due with your contract and/or the arrival of your mare to the breeding facility. The balance for all other expenses, including board and veterinary expenses is due on or before the day your mare leaves the breeding facility. No mares will be released from Equine Veterinary Services before fees are paid in full. As an added service to our clients, we accept MasterCard and Visa.

Mares should be healthy and in sound breeding condition when they arrive at the Terrell, Texas, facility: free from infections, contagious and transmittable disease. A current negative Coggins test and a copy of the mares registration papers (both sides) as well as a Veterinarian’s health certificate including health, deworming, and immunization records is required upon arrival. If a mare owner should fail to provide these documents, the breeding farm will perform the needed tests, etc. and the veterinary work will be billed to the owner.

Mare Care

Superior mare care is available for $15.00 a day/dry and $18.00 a day/wet per mare at Equine Veterinary Services. All mares are grained twice a day and provided with adequate roughage from coastal or alfalfa hay.

Live Foal Guarantee

We offer a Live Foal Guarantee to all mares bred at Equine Veterinary Services. A live foal is described as a foal that stands and nurses without assistance. If a foal is born dead, return breeding privileges shall apply only if Equine Veterinary Services is notified within fourteen days and receives a written veterinary statement confirming death within this time frame. Return breeding privileges only apply to the following breeding season. A substitute mare may be sent only if the original mare is deceased.

Breeders Certificate

A Breeders Certificate will be issued to mare owners within two weeks of Equine Veterinary Services being notified that a live foal has been produced.
